I think this flower is a Banksia? I did some searching on the web and it looks similar… it’s just that most of the Banksias are more rounded on the end?!?

These are most of the remains of the wall paintings you’re allowed to see on Uluru. There’s probably more around the rock but they’re sealed off to photographers because they’re culturally sensitive sites.
A lot of the painting have worn away… dust has got at them and worn the paint off. The ranger who led our tour also told us that back in the old days tour guides used to throw water all over the rock paintings so that the pictures showed up better in the photos. Can’t do that any more though

I promise this is the last shot!!! This is at the break of dawn and the sun is a bit higher now. The sky is starting to turn blue and the foreground is a lit up a bit.
I was going to stick around a bit longer and take a photo once the sun was up and over the rock – that way I would catch a golden glow on all of the spinifex in the foreground but I’d already been up for 2 hours and didn’t feel like sticking around for another 2 hours… wheres the dedication Wilvis

Yep… another shot of Uluru at sunrise. The sun is actually coming up from behind the rock so I couldn’t capture the sun itself
