This is another shot of the cathedral at Cologne, this time taken from the rear of the church.

Budapest Parliament House
Yep another shot of Budapest’s parliament house. This shot shows more of the river Danube and the Budapest river front…

Budapest – Fisherman's Basin
We walked to the top of Fisherman’s Basin at Budapest. There are a heap of markets, cafes and restaurants at the top as well as a few well placed statues.

Budapest Closeup of Parliament House
This is the parliament house of Budapest. Apparently it’s based on the English parliament house at Westminster.
This shot was taken on our first day in Budapest. We had just spent the day on the bus from Poland. The first thing we did once we hit Budapest was drive up to Fisherman’s Basin and check it out. From the top of the basin you can see a lot of the Budapest city centre and the river Danube flowing through the middle of the city.

Budapest Budapest at Night 3
Some more photos from our night walking tour around Budapest… At night the historic buildings light up the river… out of all the cities on our tour this city was probably my favourite. There was a lot of build up for the other cities but this place was just delivered the goods

Budapest Chain Bridge at Night
The chain bridge links the two halves of the city – Buda and Pest. I took this photo as we walked around Budapest one night with our tour group.

Huge Cathedral In Cologne
We left Koblenz via train and ended up in Cologne a few hours later. After deciding the hostel we booked was a little too far out of town we ended up staying at the Holiday Inn at the train station.
This cathedral is right beside the train station and is just something a camera cannot capture… it was absolutely massive and simply stunning. As the sun goes down it shines an almost gold colour..
Apparently it took like 600 years to build and you can see why… it must’ve been at least 6 stories high!!!

Hyatt Hotel Cologne
Here’s a shot of the Hyatt hotel in Cologne… the hotel itself isn’t that interesting but the space age building behind it looks awesome… doesn’t quite fit into the older medieval feel of the city though

Castle In The Middle Of The River Rhine
Who would’ve thought to have put a castle in the middle of the river? And more importantly why? I guess because they can! This was definitely the highlight of the cruise… I never expected to see a castle actually built right in the middle of the river… guess the good thing is that they didn’t have to build a moat

Yet Another Castle On A Hill On The River Rhine
There must’ve been literally dozen’s of castles on the river Rhine. The good thing is that many of them are very different… I guess it depends on when they were built. The best thing about this one is that it has vineyards going right down the side of it
