These are most of the remains of the wall paintings you’re allowed to see on Uluru. There’s probably more around the rock but they’re sealed off to photographers because they’re culturally sensitive sites.
A lot of the painting have worn away… dust has got at them and worn the paint off. The ranger who led our tour also told us that back in the old days tour guides used to throw water all over the rock paintings so that the pictures showed up better in the photos. Can’t do that any more though
