It was our last real day in Alice Springs and the town is buzzing… there are two major events on this weekend and one of them is the variety club bash. The bash is a charity event in which people drive older cars cross country from their home towns to Alice Springs. The bash raises money for children. It’s not really a race and a lot of the cars are done up in themes. The winner of the bash is the team that raises the most money for charity.
At the end of the trip all of the cars, or at least the ones that make it, do a parade through the Todd St mall. The photo above is of the bat mobile – all of the team were dressed up as batman characters.
