This shot is taken from the top of the initial climb up Kings Canyon. It’s pretty hard to tell from the photo but it’s quite a drop down the side of the canyon.
When we arrived in Alice Springs it was hot and dry – about 30 degrees. With all of the cloud cover at Kings Canyon the temperature was much cooler – almost cold. The thermometer was lucky to break through the 15 degree mark and it was probably a little cooler at the top of the canyon.
