Dry Riverbed In Simpsons Gap

Dry Riverbed In Simpsons Gap

Simpsons Gap is one of the little stops we made on our way from Alice Springs to Kings Canyon.
Simpsons Gap is off Larapinta Drive and is part of the MacDonnell Ranges.
The gap consists of a dry riverbed that runs through a small gap in the rocks of the MacDonnell Ranges. When we were there there was a little water in between the rocks but the rest of the riverbed was completely dry – some people even camped in the riverbed but I’m pretty sure that ain’t legal.
This photo shows the riverbed. There’s even trees and bushes growing in the middle of the river :P
