Since I’m on call for work I’m not allowed to go too far from work on the weekends
Oh well at least that’s a perfect excuse to do a little exploring around my local area. I live in Logan which is just south of Brisbane.
The first area I thought I’d check out is Mount Cotton. Mount Cotton has a national park which was donated from a deceased estate. The guy who donated it sold it to the council for $1 on the condition that they preserved it as a park.
The photograph on the right is a shot of the start of the walking track. There were plenty of Wallabies in the scrub to look at but they’re pretty wary of people.
This next shot is of a fallen over dead tree trunk. It’s really not that interesting but it was an excuse for me to play around with my new camera some more
I decided to get a little creative with my next shot. I saw a little mushroom on the ground that looked like it was half eaten or something. Time to play with the macro settings on the camera
The highlight of the trip would have to be this little wallaby. You can see the pouch down the bottom is bulging so there’s probably a little joey in there…
She was hanging around the picnic tables at the base of the park so she was probably waiting for everyone to go away so she could look for leftovers.
She was very wary of people and wouldn’t let me get too close so I couldn’t get a closer shot
After that it was a scenic drive home… the only thing to note was that German Church Rd had no German Church on it… man was I dissapointed ha ha
